Potential Project::Cocktail Dress Sale

So, in light of our recent news and upcoming move to Chi-town, I'm trying to think small. Not only is Chicago a bit pricier, we will be on a student budget...Therefore, I'm thinking about ways to downsize. One idea I have is to host a dress sale at our apartment. I have always had a weakness for cocktail dresses, and I currently have a closet full of designer labeled dresses (Laundry, Milly, BCBG, Anthropologie, Nanette Lepore, etc.) that have been worn only a handful of times.

I'd love to host a sale at our apartment, where I will put dresses for sale at a great price. Most of the dresses retailed around $200, and everything will be listed around $40 or less. Of course, mimosas and other good girly treats will be served!

What are your thoughts - do you think this would work? Would it be fun? Here are some of the MANY dresses I have in mind, so you can check them out!

BCBG dress, Size 4, purchased in 2007 (cute guy on the left not included)

Left - Anthropologie Dress, Size 4, purchased in 2009 (the two times it’s been worn, I got a ton of compliments!)

Right – Laundry dress, Size 4 – purchased in 2010; don’t have a full length pictures, but dress hits about 2-3” above knee.

Left – BCBG, Size S, purchased in 2007 (slight snag in bottom tier – I will sell cheap)

Right – BCBG; size 4; purchased in 2009 (perfect for Auburn fans!)

Left – Milly, Size Small, purchased in 2007 (weird angle because I’m sitting)

Right – Milly, Size S, purchased in 2007

I have many more dresses, but this is getting embarrassing posting pics of myself. Let me know your thoughts and if you would be interested! If you can’t make a stop by, I can always ship!

Exciting News!

Apologies for my lack of posting this week and basically falling off the radar.  It has been a stressful week waiting to hear if Lee would get admitted to Business School - a long time dream.  We FINALLY got the great news today that he's been admitted to Kellogg's MMM Program in Chicago - a perfict fit for his long term career goals.

I couldn't be more proud of him, relieved the wait is over and excited to start this new adventure at the same time.  We've had amazing support from friends, family and colleagues who have been so encouraging throughout this process.  You know who you are.  Thank you so much!

Have a wonderful weekend - and I look forward to getting back to a normal posting routine!

Much love,

Sarah

PS: I love that my sister and cousin-in-law live in Chicago and can offer advice!  If you have any suggestions (i.e., where to buy a really warm coat) I'd love to hear them!

On my mind...

Thinking of Japan today and what a horrible tragedy took place for so many.  It's so sad sometimes how a horrific event has to take place to put things in perspective.

I came across these cherry blossoms from Kyoto and thought they were beautiful.  If you are interested in donating to the cause an easy way is to support the Red Cross Relief Fund is by texting to REDCROSS to 90999 and your $10 gift will support Japan earthquake and pacific tsunami victims.

So Fresh and So Clean Clean

Maybe it’s the promise of Spring, or one of my favorite past times, Spring Cleaning*, that have me loving these fresh, clean looks.

Z to A::Dinner Club

I don’t know about you, but this weekend feels well deserved.   What are you doing this weekend?

I’m excited for our second dinner club outing!  Months ago, a few of us had the idea to try new restaurants  in Houston based on the alphabet – starting with the letter ‘Z’ because we’re crazy like that.  The first dinner club (at Zelko Bistro – amazeballs) was a success!   Tomorrow night (and 105 days later than our first outing,) we’re hitting up Yelapa.

The Dinner' Club’s VP of Social Media (yes – we all have titles)  put together a fun tumblr site to track the club’s journeys.  Check it out, and if you’d like to join in the fun, please let me know!  Also, any ideas for a restaurant that represents the letter ‘X’ are welcome!

Have a delicious weekend!

My Worst Nightmare

Oh my goodness. This is my worst nightmare. As beautiful as that picture is, can you imagine working in an office, or waking up from a restful nap on that gorgeous couch to a huge picture of snakes staring at you?! Yikes!
