Guilty Pleasures…

So many of you know I have a weakness for pop culture, and I literally can't help it. If I don't get a dose of Us Magazine or People Magazine daily, I feel out of sorts and untouch with the world. Pathetic – yes. Well as I mentioned in one of my very first posts, I said I'd try to limit my intake of shows on 'E!.' Well...I'm proud to admit I have moved on from 'E!' right into the arms of Bravo TV! I know a lot of people have been into Bravo for years, and I can't believe I've missed out on so much quality television!

What I'm watching now:

The Real Housewives of New Jersey – these ladies are the ultimate class acts. (NOT!)

Bethenny Getting Married - Love her – she's hilarious and was always my fave on The Real Housewives of New York.

Double Exposure – an ex married couple who photographs celebrities and models for fancy shoots. They fight the entire time, but the guy (don't even know his name) has a French accent that kills me. Everything he says is funny. I don't know why. Maybe because Lee talks to Kitty in French (albeit made up French) and I find it very sweet.

In high school I went through a major quotation phase. I think a lot of teenage girls do. The cheesier the quote, the better. I put them on gifts,in my aim profile, included them in papers and looked for more that were touching or sweet. Since I've gotten older, I hardly pay attention to quotes, unless they are from a movie or show that makes me laugh. Then I will use them incessantly.

However, these came along (with pretty colors nonetheless) and caught my eye. They are good messages, and total eye candy.

Going Green.

Do you have a favorite color? I love the color green - particularly kelly green or lighter greens. My lovely and freshly married sister-in-law loves yellow. She incorporated this in her wedding as well as her clothing. Here's a pic of some fun, green images. They just make me happy.

What color makes you happy?

Channeling Michelle Williams...

Thanks to you who voted in my Opinion Requested #2 post. I took the advice and asked for "The Michelle." I think the hairdresser did a pretty good job. What do you think?

Leaving on a Jetplane...

We're headed out of town tomorrow for a short period, so I wanted to leave you with a few of my fave images I've collected over the week. I apologize for not knowing the sources - they just struck me for some reason or other and I wanted to share.

Loving these curtains...

This looks delish - Ash, please add to list:

I think I'd be happier at work if this was my workspace:

Sounds fun - let's do it.

OMG, I love this image - look at the skinny jeans and that sassy strut!

Opinion Requested #2

Hello and hope you had a great weekend!

So we're headed out to beautiful North Georgia this weekend for my sister-in-law and her fiance's wedding. It's going to be a wonderful time having all the family together. I'm a bridesmaid and am looking for make up and hair inspiration. The J.Crew dresses are a lovely grayish blue, so I want to make sure my hair / make up compliment it. According to the bride, we're getting our hair done at a very Steel Magnolias-esque salon. Cannot wait!

Here are a couple pics I'm finding inspiring, but I would love to hear what you think!

Blog Crush :: Elements of Style Blog

Ah - My day has been made. Just when I was getting kind of bored, I found a new blog that I love! Check out Erin Gates from Elements of Style. She has a great sense of style, and her postings are always interesting, honest and funny. I have enjoyed reading the archives, and will look forward to reading what she's saying in the future.

Check it out, if you haven't already...Very cool!

So Cute...

I love these colorful (and inexpensive) customizable plates from La Plates. I think they'd make a great housewarming or fun shower gift. I think they are too pretty to eat on though - I'd prefer to display them. Here are some of my fave examples.

Orange and Chevron - two of my faves.

Good for Red Raiders!

Love the yellow

Bad Case of the Wants.

So I'm still a newbie to the blogosphere, and although I'm absolutely loving it, I realized I've developed a bad case of "the wants." Going though fab design and fashion blogs on a nightly basis (it's part of my relaxation routine) has made my wish list a mile long! What's wrong with me?!? I know the things in life that really matter are not going to provide a cute spot on my bookshelf, or come in the form of a pair of cute wedges...BUT I can't help wanting them all the same.

A few things on my wish list right now are:
Gorgeous leather Bag from J.Crew (Oh and it's on sale - so tempting!)

Fun colorful pillows from Etsy

Garden vase

Any other bloggers get a case of the "I Wants" from time to time?

Use Your Trash to Decorate!

I hate buying stuff that is practical but ugly. In fact, I don't buy these things - Lee does. Some examples include, a black paper shredder, humidifier, and my 2008 Christmas gift - a rumba (I love vacuuming, but that thing had to go.) These objects are totally necessary and practical, but they do nothing for enhancing the aesthetics of your space. I guess someone else felt the same way, because they have invented a paper shredding coffee table. How clever!

Delish.

This looks amazingly refreshing, and I love the name. Since we can't all go to Paris for the summer, you can just drink like you are.

Recipe provied by marieclaire.com

1/2 organic rosemary sprig

LOVE.

It's the Monday after the annual Port A trip with the College Crew, and I always return home with a mix of feelings that include...

1. Sickness - the Port A lifestyle (lots of sun, little sleep, questionable dishes called "The Dump" and some adult bevs) can take its toll on the body.
2. Sadness - leaving behind 9 fab girlfriends and not being able to chat 24-7 about whatever topic just comes up; whether it is our Business Plan to open a retail/fitness/bakery salon in Austin or things that scare us (that creepy ghost boy from Three Men and a Baby!)
3. Gratefulness - it's an amazing gift to have the opportunity to gather in one spot every year and know that no matter how long it's been since I've seen these girls in person, we will pick up like no time has past, and I will know everything that is going on in their respective lives.
4. Giddiness - reflecting back on some moments as they reel through my mind like one of the videos Patty accidentally takes or flipping through the 294 pics she's posted, I LOL at the comments and utter joy it is to spend with the girls.

Already working the countdown for Port A 2011!

beach time.

Off to the beach for another long weekend and lots of girly, fun time...

OK, so this isn't really what Port Aransas looks like, but one could imagine...

Have a wonderful weekend!

Workin It Out.

So I'm tired. Why you may ask, because I'm been doing a great workout for about a month now. It's called DEFINE, and it's a combination of pilates, yoga and ballet. Awesome? Yes. Exhausting? Def. Worth it? Most Def.

But if you are in Houston or have anything similar to DEFINE, I would highly recommend it. The instructors are awesome and highly motivating, which is an absoluate must when you are doing non stop squats and plank positions - ughhh! plank!!

If you are looking to get ready for bikini season, or just want to feel better and stronger, check it out!!
