I don't know about you, but to me it feels like it's TOTALLY time for a three day weekend.
Time to kick back with a delish cocktail and relax! I'm going to S&TC 2 and having a celebration lunch for Meagan...What are you doing?

PLSS
Like many Americans today, I'm suffering from a bit of PLSS. That stands for Post LOST Sadness Syndrome. The season finale last night was fantastic and sweet in so many ways. I'm sure there will be many who do not agree with me, but I truly was moved by the storylines and music.
If you are a Lostie like myself, here are some LOST inspired pieces to make you feel as though you are on The Island too.

sibling rivalry
So I saw this interesting article via Mimi and Meg about a very weathly (think Paris Hilton) pair of siblings living in the W in Dallas. The room is split it two (kind of like when you divided your room when you were fighting with your bro/sis) EXCEPT they have 12,000 square feet to divide. Seriously. Who needs that much space? I think it's kind of gross actually.
Anyway, here are some enviable books from the sis's side. I love the bedframe she's using:
And the living room is gorgeous...
And of course her closet:
Could you ever be a roommate with your sibling? In my case, no way. No offense Chris (my bro), but we'd drive each other nuts.
Happy almost weekend!

I'll have a latte and a pet session.
Oh wow... Please go visit this blog post immediately by Sea of Shoes. Apparently they are opening Cat Cafes in Japan - no really. Bsically you walk in, order a drink, and chill with the felines. In fact, you can draw them. In a book. I'm a HUGE animal lover - especially cats; but this seems very odd to me...
Here is what the v. talented blogger says...
"Somehow while searching for restaurants to check out I stumbled upon a list of Tokyo's 'cat cafes'. Here 1000 yen will buy an hour's worth of petting with the cafe's kitties. Since 2008 more than a dozen of these cat cafes have opened in Tokyo. Some of these cafes have as many as twenty five cats on staff. One of these cafes stays open until 5:30 AM. I felt that our trip would not be complete without paying a visit to one of the cat cafes....so yesterday my mom, her friend Beth, my friend Ronnie, and I went to go meet the kitties of the Chamamo Cat Room in Harajuku. As per cat cafe protocol, we removed our shoes, washed and sanitized our hands, and paid for our session. Cat toys are provided to play with. You may not wake up sleeping kitties, by the way. The atmosphere of the cat room was extremely hushed and peaceful."

So last weekend, Meagan (Congrats btw - last final ever today!!) sent a great article from the NY Times based on what you MUST do in Houston if you're ever here for 36 hours.
I agree with about 80% of the recommendations, but I cannot believe someone could come to Houston without getting Tex-Mex. Um, hello? We're not like the 5th fattest city for no reason...We love our queso, margs, and seasoned meats. Personally El Tiempo is my favorite.
Check out the article here:

What would you only do if you had 36 hours in Houston?!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there !
Happy Mother's Day to my lovely mom...
(Love this picture of her!)
And wonderful Mother (and Sister-in-Law (she's a cat mom))
And because it's Mother's Day, and Kitty is my cat-son, I have an excuse to upload one of my fave pics ever - Lee and Kitty as a kitten - before we realized he had pneumonia...we just thought he was really calm - hope that doesn't say much for my future parenting skills!

Seriously?
The popular baby names for 2009 are inspired by Twilight characters...
Anyone else feel like that's really lame?

New Houston Restaurant - BRC
One of the things I love about Houston is our love of good. New restaurants are popping up costantly, and I make it a priority to try every one (assuming they are not going to blow our budget (Textile - ahem!)) Recently gastropups (ps: hate that name) are the new hot thing. Hearsay is one - and it is awesome. So awesome in fact we're celebrating my dear friend, Meagan's, law school graduation there with some omelettes and mimosas. Can't wait.
Another one recently showed up on Washington, and I love the icon - and cheeky name- Big Red (Insert another name for Rooster). Here's the adorable icon, and can't wait to try their rather interesting food.
Bon Appetit!

So Sweet!
Oh my - this is such a sweet dedication to "unselfish mothers"...click here to see a lovely tribute to animal mothers who adopt orphaned animals as their own, regardless of species. If you're reading this, you probably know I'm the biggest animal lover - and have to literally leave the room when those dang Sarah Maclaughlin SPCA commercials come on.
Can't resist a sweet picture like this:
Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!

Opinion Requested...
Every summer I try to invest in one dress I love to wear throughout wedding season. Last summer, it was a cream, navy and had a lovely peachy top. Auburn fans were also a big fan of the dress, shown below.
Last summer's dress
This year, I've found a few dresses I love, but I'm (a) waiting until they go on sale b/c I hate paying full price for anything and (b) don't want anything too trendy, so I can wear over and over again. That's why I need your help! Which one you do like best?
Option # 1 - Love the color and belt!
Option # 2 - Love the colors and floral pattern - just wondering if this will last after 1 season
Option #3 - this looks so comfortable, I'd sleep in it. Also can't resist a sweetheart neckline.
So, what do you think?
