NY, NY

This weekend, I had the pleasure of spending quality time with six of my favorite peeps in one of the coolest cities in the world, NYC!

Several of us had been previously, so we skipped some of the traditional, touristy things and chose to focus on filling our stomachs with delish food and cocktails. I mean, can you blame us?

Day 1- Thanks to a couple of great tour guides, we made our way to an adorable place for brunch aptly called The Delicatessen and picked up Magnolia afterwards. After drinks at the Standard BAR and visiting the High Line (thanks to the recommendation of The Real Simple Life’s Kristen) we refreshed ourselves (again) at 230 5th, where you have an insane view of the city, before heading to dinner. If you are headed to NYC, I highly recommend eating at Hotel Griffou. The rooms and people watching are fantastic. Each room is decorated differently setting off a different vibe in each. Additionally, the food is mouthwatering, and proportions are fair. After dinner, more fun continued at the Back Room, a kitschy speakeasy that serves drinks in tea cups. Pinkies up, ladies.

Day 2- Continuing on with eat/drink fest 2010, we ate brunch at Jane, not as plain as you may think. Afterwards, we strolled off our full tummies at Central Park, where the turtle pond was a crowd favorite. Having slept late, by the time we finished the park, it was time to get ready to to go out again! This time, we met for drinks at Ajna Bar – formerly Buddha Bar, which rumor is had to change it’s name after the Buddha was stolen.

An amazing dinner was followed at Buddakan, and cold beers with longtime friends. What more can a girl ask for?

Overall the weekend was a blast. My pants are slightly tighter, but my heart is full of joy having seen several longtime friends and catching up with “The Girls”.

Hope you had a great weekend too!
